Tamworth Have a Heart Volunteer

I volunteer for Tamworth Have a Heart, a scheme in Tamworth that provides AEDs to the surrounding area. There are over 80 AEDs around Tamworth thanks to this charity. I help with AED maintenance and also teach CPR and AED use to both adults and children!

This means assessing their ability to understand the information given to them, retain it, weigh the potential risks and benefits, and communicate their decision. When a person lacks this capacity, we must act in their best interests and ensuring their respect and dignity are upheld.

Big Sick Little Sick is a form of triaging to determine if this patient requires more urgent support than another patient. An extreme example would be someone that has lost a limb but has a tourniqué applied and is stable, versus someone in the middle of a heart attack. In this example, the patient that has lost a limb would be Little Sick and the heart attack patient would be Big Sick
